ODESSA -- An Odessa woman has been arrested, after she accidentally ran over her own infant niece.
Starr Nicole Madrid has been charged with criminally negligent homicide. She's been arrested and has since bonded out of the Ector County Jail.
The incident happened as Madrid was leaving a parking lot on north Grandview in Odessa last week. Police say she didn't secure her infant niece, Yanna Nevi Sanchez, into a car seat. Somehow the child opened the car door, hung on, and fell under the tires of Madrid's SUV
The infant was flown to a Lubbock hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The charges Madrid faces come from the fact that the child was not secured in her car seat at the time.
