From November to January Mexican Authorities say a single traveler can bring $300 worth of presents or other valuable items across the border.

This restriction is different from the usual yearly rate of only $75 dollars.

The consulate said people may also bring their vehicles into Mexico, but only if they get a permit.

Some West Texans might feel $300 dollars is not enough to cover all the gifts they bring to their relatives during the holidays.

But Hector Acosta from the Mexican Consulate feels that number should be more than enough.

"They should take the opportunity the whole family in order to travel together in order to have that frenchs each person you know all together the family they could reach a higher amount because you have three hundred each person right," said Acosta.

Acosta also said these restrictions are not meant to burden anyone.

In fact, they are meant to make sure everyone who visits Mexico as well as its inhabitants are safe.

He also urges people to save all receipts before heading out to Mexico.

These restrictons will be in place until January of next year.
