PECOS-- The debate over the Reeves County budget has been a hot topic recently, and it's bogged down the county's government for weeks. Now, it looks like it's going to be at least a few more weeks before it's all settled.
The proposed budget was turned down in a council meeting today in Pecos. Three commissioners and the county judge voted on the budget and the votes were split in half. Since the budget had to be approved unanimously, the vote failed. Because of this, Reeves County is still operating without a budget.
The council will meet again on December 13th.
