Odessa Man Competent to Stand Trial

ODESSA -- An Odessa man accused of a fatal stabbing has been found competent to stand trial.
    According to reports, Dr. Jarvis Wright of San Angelo said that James Spencer Williams would be competent to stand trial. Wright's evaluation did not determine whether Williams, 48, is legally insane. Williams will get another evaluation for that in December.
    Williams is accused of stabbing 59-year-old Tony Villa at the West 51 apartments in June. Williams' attorney requested the insanity defense earlier this month.
