Kaleidoscope Kids Ministries is giving a bathroom makeover to one hard working mentor on their team.
Volunteers from Arizona, Nevada and right here in the Basin are helping a special mentor remodel her old bathrooms.
The mentor houses kids all week long in her own home while their mothers are working full time.
She doesn't make much money and that's why the ministry decided to thank her with a mini bathroom makeover this Thanksgiving.
Terri Hewko has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
"How many people get to have a job that they are so passionate about, and to just be blessed with this makeover in my house," said Terri Hewko.
She mentors single mothers and their children.
She makes very little but says its worth it.
"I raise my own support, which makes it more of a blessing to have this remodel done. As I would not have been able to afford this on my own," said Hewko.
One of her kids is little Olivia whose mother is working full time to help pay the bills.
That's why Terri is there to help and now her ministry is giving her something back.
"Terri goes above and beyond whats her job. She loves our mom and our kids, she shares her life with our families and kids," said Diane Mindrup.
"They have such precious little hearts. I have just fallen in love with kids these moms they are just so precious to me," said Hewko.
Terri's dad is helping his daughter remodel the bathrooms.
He has gotten people from his hometown in Neveda to contribute.
"It was a neat opportunity for people to get involved and they dont live close to here but they saw something that was going to change a persons life," said Mindrup.
Changing lives is something the ministry hopes to accomplish.
With this remodel Terri hopes she can continue opening her home up to the various children who seek her help.
"It's wonderful to give your life and be part of something and when your blessed in return its sometimes like i said hard to receive, but i want to tell everyone who has been a part of this thank you for all this its been a blessing and will be put in good use," said Hewko.
Kaleidoscope Kids Ministries is only four years old but they have already helped many single mothers all around the Basin.
Terri is just one of the mentors that shares their lives with kids and their mothers.
They not only help take care of the children but they give the moms support in helping them fulfill their dreams.
