MIDLAND -- The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is traditionally the busiest travel day of the year, and airports across the country are swamped with people traveling for the holiday.
Here in Midland, airport officials tell Big 2 the rush picks up gradually over the course of the evening as more people get off work and leave town.
"I anticipate that everybody will have a good, safe trip and it won't be too bad coming through Midland," Midland International Airport Director Marv Esterly. "It may be a little more hectic and a little more difficult to go through some of the major hubs as they'll be really packed."
Esterly also added that passengers can speed up the security screening process by taking all the items out of their pockets while they're waiting on line.
