MIDLAND -- A Midland man got into a standoff with police Friday afternoon.
The incident happened at a residence on Windridge, near the Midland Country Club,  starting at 2 PM Friday.
A man with a loaded pistol threatened to kill himself and his roommate called police. After an hour, the man came outside peacefully.
An Midland Police Department spokesperson tells Big 2, "We used tactics that were common among the police department. You know when someone is asking, or is threatening suicide and threatening to kill officers at one point. We were able to talk to him and he just gave up."
Police say the man won't be charged, but he'll be examined and recommended for treatment
