ODESSA -- We are definitely living in an Internet age, and in an effort to keep up with the changing times, the Odessa Police Department has redeveloped their website.
O.P.D. partnered with Vision Internet to give their website a bit of a make-over. The new website provides a variety of new online services and interactive tools, such as Raids Online and Nixle, which provides a quick, efficient, and secure way to get information out to community members.
"It was our goal in the development of this site to create a site that was informative, interactive, and easy to navigate for members of the public," Sherrie Carruth of O.P.D. told Big 2.
"With people being so busy, they can just get on there and some of the things they're reading, they can get to it with just a click of a button and eliminate a lot of having to call, having to take off from work, having to figure out 'How am I going to get down there and do this or get that?'" added Odessa Police Chief Tim Burton.
O.P.D. says the new system is extremely user-friendly, allowing tech savvy and non-tech savvy members to make updates without any problems. You can check out the newly re-designed website at www.odessapd.com.
