MIDLAND -- Newly elected Congressmen and women haven't even gone to Washington yet, but a San Angelo man says he's ready to run for Congress in 2012.

Jim Riley has announced he is running as a Democrat for the 11th District against Republican Mike Conaway.

Riley says while he's running as a democrat, it's closer to a democrat from the fifities, focusing more on people a candidate for the working man and woman. Since he says he doesn't have a huge bank account to fund his campaign, he's announcing early.

"We have to get the name out there, obviously, we have to get on the issues,"
he said. "We have to let people know where we stand and i think it's important people get to know me a little bit."

Riley says the economy should be congresses top priority, and that if elected, he'll propose a bill that would give all congress, and other federal employees, a ten percent pay cut.
