ODESSA -- An Odessa man is behind bars, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Abdel Torres was arrested after authorities say he tried to run another vehicle off the road. An arrest affidavit says that Torres, 27, was driving a blue Dodge at McCormick and South West County Road when he saw his sister Celia riding in a red Chevy truck with four other people. The truck was reportedly being driven by Celia's husband Pedro Tercero and was heading south on South West County Road.

The report says Torres made a U-turn and rammed the Dodge into the Chevy several times, which almost caused the Chevy to roll over. The Chevy was spun around into oncoming traffic before Tercero could drive away.

Torres is currently being held in the Ector County Detention Center.
