More than $180,000 from ONCOR, as part of a series of matching grants to help cover the cost of changing some lights to energy efficient alternatives. They also are making improvements to some air conditioning systems for the cities. But the check is only the beginning.
"The projected savings is about $35,000 a year, just in energy savings from the measures recognized today," ONCOR Area Manager Sue Mercer told Big 2. "So you can see it doesn't stop paying today, but every year."
Another check should be coming from ONCOR soon, after some more improvements are made at Midland International Airport.
