MIDLAND -- Midland's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program hosted a special luncheon Thursday to thank all of their volunteers who've given their time in 2010.

Guests at the luncheon enjoyed a delicious meal and live entertainment. A select few were also recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty.

The council also presented a check to Midland City Councilman John James in the amount of $2,379,923.25. That's how much the city saved thanks to R.S.V.P. volunteers who put in over 114,000 hours of service for free.
