MIDLAND -- As we get closer and closer to the holidays, gas prices continue to go up.

All across the country, gas prices are starting to go up, crossing the $3 a gallon mark for regular unleaded. AAA says that prices are actually up about 50 cents from the same time last year, which is unusual. Gas prices usually go up around the summer months, not during the winter.

The cheapest gas is in Midland around $2.75 a gallon, while it's closer to$2.80 a gallon in Odessa.
