ODESSA -- Burn bans went into effect in Midland and Odessa earlier this month, as the dry conditions continued to get worse.

The ban restricts residents from burning trash. But now, Ector County is considering changing that policy.

One of the measures on the agenda for Monday's commissioners court meeting would allow precautionary procedures for burning trash. If approved, that would mean that burning would be allowed in a proper barrel with an iron grate.

People could also barbeque outside, as long as they use the appropriate grill.
