Police say, when they arrived Hall was dead in the middle of the parking lot.

All that's left of the early morning fight is orange numbers scribbled across the floor.

Guests at Odessa Motor Inn, kept walking outside trying to decipher for themselves what happened to Freddie Hall III.

None, wanted to be on camera.

"Some people I have been talking say he had coming but they are sorry that he's dead," said and Anonymous guest.

Officers arrived at around 3 in the morning.
