SAN ANGELO -- F.L.D.S. prophet Warren Jeffs appeared at the Tom Green County Courthouse Wednesday with a Texas attorney. Then, he promptly fired him.

On Wednesday, Jeffs was in court with Gerry Morris of Austin as his lawyer. Jeffs entered a plea of not guilty to knowingly or intentionally having sex with two girls 17 years old or younger in 2005 and 2006 in Schleicher County. The alleged incidents happened at the Yearning For Zion Ranch near Eldorado.

Hours after the court appearance, Jeffs fired Morris. Then he asked for more time to hire appropriate council.

The trial has now been postponed almost a month until February 21st. Meanwhile, Jeffs is being held in Big Lake.
