ODESSA -- An Odessa man is behind bars, accused of being involved in an organized theft ring.

Richard Travis Bowman, 35, was arrested on Monday. Police say he was part of a group that sold stolen bronze boxes from Knighten Industries in mid-December. Those parts were reportedly found at a Midessa recycling center on December 15th. Then, other metal parts were reported stolen on December 20th and showed up at the same recycling center that same day. Employees there said Bowman and Benjamin Meece had sold them the metals.

According to an arrest affidavit, Meece and Bowman told authorities that another man, Christopher McCarty, told them to sell the metals. Meece and McCarty was arrested last week for taking part in the ring, along with Ronnie Hofer.

Bowman is charged with a felony in engaging in organized activity.
