MIDLAND -- At least five people were injured in a collision south of Midland Friday night.

This all happened at Rankin Highway and County Road 130 around 6 PM Friday. A Chevy pickup was heading west on County Road 130 when it failed to yield the right of way and smashed into a Nissan Titan that was heading south on Rankin Highway.

All five people in the Titan were rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital. Three kids and one adult in that vehicle were taken on backboards, but their injuries are unknown.

The driver of the Chevy pickup was tested for alcohol, but D.P.S. troopers determined that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
