AUSTIN -- When the Texas legislature meets again Tuesday in Austin, they'll continue to work at solving the state's budget crisis. But many Republicans say that the budget situation is under control.

Many Republicans believe that cutting state spending will help offset the state revenue drop. That's bad news for state agencies, who've asked for almost $12 billion to maintain their services at the same levels.

The Legislature has already included 8,000 state job cuts in the first draft of the budget.
