ODESSA -- A man is behind bars in Odessa, accused of driving a car into a duplex.

Jerry Ehrenberg was arrested Monday night after the crash at 21st and Dixie. Police say Ehrenberg, 38, was drunk when he ran a red light at the intersection in his GMC Yukon and swerved to avoid a vehicle. The Yukon ended up smashing into a duplex on the 1100 block of 23rd street, and the owner of the home said Ehrenberg immediately took off.

"I saw the guy running down the sidewalk and a lady trying to stop him, and she couldn't stop him," the duplex owner told Big 2.

Officers eventually caught Ehrenberg in the 1600 block of Patton Drive. Now, he's charged with Driving While Intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a valid license.

No one was hurt in the crash.
