ODESSA -- An Odessa man will spend 20 years behind bars after he was convicted of a robbery.

Johnny Lara Jr. got that sentence last week. Lara, 24, and another man robbed a home in the 1400 block of Broughton at gunpoint in April, before taking off in a white SUV. Police pulled over the SUV, but the two men ran away before police caught them in the 1400 block of north Hancock.

Lara pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Now, he will spend the next two decades behind bars.
