CHICAGO, IL --  Americans turn up at work even when sick and sniffling.

A new CareerBuilder survey found that 72-percent of Americans will go to work despite feeling ill.

The survey of more than 37-hundred workers found that a little more than half say they got sick from a co-worker.

Another 12-percent said they caught a bug from someone on public transportation during their commute.

More than half of respondents also said they feel guilty when they do call in sick.

To limit their chances of getting sick, more than three-in-four said they wash their hands often. One-third carry hand sanitizer with them, and about 30-percent regularly clean their work space, including keyboards and telephones.
