Woman Injured In Crash With Deputy Dies

ODESSA -- A woman who was severely injured during a crash involving an Ector County Sheriff's Deputy has passed away.
   
    Brenda Madrid died on Sunday at a hospital in Lubbock. Madrid was a passenger in a vehicle that ran a stop sign at Westridge and University and smashed into a police cruiser driven by Deputy David Escudero. Escudero was heading to a police pursuit and was driving very fast with his siren and police lights on.

    The driver of the vehicle Escudero hit was killed in the crash, and Escudero broke his leg and some ribs in the crash. He was later released from the hospital.
