MARFA -- Close to a ton of marijuana was seized along the border Thursday and Friday.

Both of these busts happened on the U.S. 67 checkpoint just south of Marfa. Border Patrol say that an Andrews resident was stopped Thursday morning, and a K-9 indicated narcotics. That's when agents found a secret compartment in the bed of a pick up, carrying more than 1000 pounds of marijuana. That's worth more than $900,000.

Then, Friday morning, a Presidio man was stopped with more drugs hidden in a secret compartment, worth over $500,000. In total, 1800 pounds of marijuana were seized.
