U.T.P.B learned that House Bill 1 proposes major cuts to their operations.
"We're looking at a 25 percent reduction in our appropriation," U.T.P.B. President Dr. David Watts told Big 2. "That's $9.5 million over two years."
Dr. Watts stresses that this is still the first budget proposal, and that it's too early to say what the final decisions will be. They won't even consider what cuts need to be made until June, when they have final numbers. He also added that all building projects will continue on schedule, since this money would only affect operations, not development.
