One Injured In Winkler County Plant Fire

WINKLER COUNTY -- A Southern Union worker is undergoing treatment at a Lubbock burn center after a flash fire ignited at one of their plants.

    The incident happened at Southern Union's Keystone Plant on F.M. 1218 in Winkler County. Southern Union spokesperson Jack Barnett tells Big 2 that the accident happened between 3 and 3:30 Monday afternoon. Barnett says details are still slim as to how it happened, but they do know there was a gas release followed by a flash fire.

    The fire was put out quickly, but one employee was injured in the blaze. He was sent to the Lubbock burn center for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

    A team of Southern Union employees are on site investigating the cause of the fire. Big 2 will bring you the latest as more details are released.
