WalMart, with the First Lady's support, has recently announced its plan to encourage shedding extra pounds by keeping extra dough.
For some, a healthy food list meant and expensive food list.
“I don't think they have a problem disliking, its healthier food is more expensive,” said Shannon Boecker, a Walmart Customer
Famous for its amazing rollbacks, Walmart stand true to its promise. The chain is rolling back its prices on its healthier food in hopes to encourage a leaner diet.
“My girls love apples and oranges, that's like their favorite they don't really like junk food as much as they like carrots and peppers, said Ashley
Masterson, another customer of Walmart. "Having them lower prices helps out a lot,”
A local Walmart in Midland says its seen more price reductions in the past week than ever before. And people agree -- if you make health food affordable, it's a huge step towards curbing obesity in America.
“Everyone needs help so the more you have helping you the better it is to improve,” said Boecker
The plan is also to lower sodium, trans fat, and sugar in Walmart's house brand Great Value. But if you're afraid it will taste weird, don't worry. Walmart plans to make this transition over the next five years to help people get used to the new taste.
