GARDENDALE -- Many Gardendale residents met Friday night, as volunteers get ready to start moving around with petitions.

The Gardendale Land Owners Association has been frustrated about increased drilling in that area. On Friday night they held a meeting, explaining exactly what people need to do to get a petition started.

Some people want to make Gardendale a city, as a means of slowing drilling in that community. Others say the drilling has brought more money to the area.

Comments

As a member of Gardendale Land Owners Association I want to clarify our position on drilling. We aren't opposed to drilling and aren't demanding a slowdown. We want to incorporate in order to set health, safety, community and environmental standards we believe Berry Petroleum and their service companies should adhere to when drilling and operating in our neighborhood.
