ODESSA -- Odessa city officials are asking you to lower your thermostats and cut back on power usage to prevent further power outages.
Due to the extreme cold
conditions there has been a high demand on electrical service. This
has overtaxed the system creating sporadic outages throughout the
city and county.
Citizens need to reduce the use of electrical power
by limiting use of electrical appliances and equipment to a minimum.
Thermostats should be lowered to 68 degrees.
People that need
non-emergency assistance can call 211 for further information.
A temporary warming shelter has been established at 1005 North West County Road at the Police Athletic Gym, located in Floyd Gwin Park.
