MIDLAND -- The Midland City Council is one step closer to granting permits that would all oil wells to be drilled in northwest Midland.

The council held a public hearing on Tuesday to hear what residents had to say about granting these permits to Fasken Oil and Ranch. If approved, it would allow four wells to be drilled off of Holiday Hill Road, north of Mockingbird Lane.

The City of Midland tells Big 2 that they'll be meeting to vote on the matter on March 8th. If approved, drilling could begin as early as March 11th.
