WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Now is the time for Egypt's leaders to take real action to show they're serious about pursuing an orderly transition of power.
That's what State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said at a news briefing.
He also said the continuing unrest in Egypt will be a topic of discussion when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton meets with the Israeli defense minister.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates will also be at that meeting.
The U.S. and Israel are concerned the current political situation in Egypt could have significant impact on the stability of the entire Middle East.
