LUBBOCK -- The trial against the former principal of the West Texas State School in Pyote continues.

A former female corrections officer took the stand Monday, detailing when an inmate told her about alleged abuse he suffered at the hands of John Paul Hernandez. That inmate didn't talk about the abuse for years. He allegedly said he was afraid of retaliation.

The defense, meanwhile, entered letters into evidence where the former inmate thanked Hernandez for helping him out.

Hernandez is facing 11 counts stemming from abuse that allegedly happened in the Pyote school in 2005.
