MIDLAND COUNTY -- A rollover crash on Interstate 20 has badly injured two people.

The rollover happened early Wednesday morning on the interstate near the Midland-Ector line. Department of Public Safety troopers tell Big 2 that an Acura coupe was heading east on the highway around 2:15 AM Wednesday when the driver swerved to avoid an abandoned truck sitting in the shoulder near mile marker 122. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle rolled over several times. Both occupants were thrown out of the vehicle.

The driver was identified as 26 year-old Howard Spacek of Clebourne, while the passenger was 21 year-old William Black, from Killeen. Both Black and Spacek were taken to the I.C.U. at Medical Center Hospital, where Black is said to be in worse condition.

Troopers say neither Black nor Spacek were wearing a seat belt. They add that alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.
