MIDLAND -- TXDOT is closing lanes on some roads in the Permian Basin for road work.

The department tells Big 2 that one lane will soon be closed in each direction at 42nd street and Dixie in Odessa. Meanwhile, in Midland, a lane has been closed on the Loop 250 service road near Midland Drive as crews work on the road.

When complete, those lanes will re-open, and they'll close the other lanes. TXDOT says the work should be finished by April.

Drivers are asked to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
