AUSTIN -- Governor Rick Perry has appointed an Odessa attorney as the new judge of the 244th District Court.

James Rush is the president of Rush, Kelly Morgan, Dennis Corzine and Hansen. He has practiced law in Texas and New Mexico. He also is a past president of the Ector County Bar Association.

The Texas Senate still has to confirm the appointment. The Ector County G.O.P. recommended Rush last month after hearing from a number of people.
