A Canadian affidavit claims that between 2004 and 2006, at least three girls were brought out of British Columbia by their parents so they could be "celestially married" to Jeffs in the F.L.D.S. Church. Two of the three girls were allegedly brought to Texas. Those girls were 12 and 13 years old.
It's not clear if these marriages were consummated. Officials also say this information came from church records seized from the Yearning For Zion Ranch in Eldorado when it was raided in 2008.
Jeffs is being held in Reagan County. He is scheduled to stand trial later in 2011.
British Columbia is examining the constitutionality of their polygamy law. This evidence could be entered into that case.
