MIDLAND -- A car crash along Interstate 20 Wednesday showed how quickly a grass fire can burn.

The crash just before 5 PM on Wednesday. Troopers say the driver of a red pickup tried to pass another on the service road near County Road 1255. The other vehicle tried to turn left, hitting the truck and sending it crashing into a telephone pole.

The grass around the truck quickly caught fire. Luckily, fire crews were able to put out the blaze before it spread too far.

Amazingly, no one was badly hurt in the crash.
