Big Spring Man Pleads Guilty For Informant Attack

MIDLAND -- A Big Spring man has pleaded guilty to attacking an informant, after that informant's information led to the arrest of the man's younger brother.

    Gilbert Yorkman a guilty plea Tuesday in federal court. Yorkman, 30, will spend a year in prison.

    In October 2009 Yorkman's brother Robert was shot in the back at his Midland business -- Yorkman's Car Wash and Detail Shop. An arrest was made, but police hinted that it was drug related. A month later, Robert Yorkman and more than a dozen other people were indicted on drug charges.

    Police say just days after the arrest, Gilbert Yorkman beat up a federal informant at a car lot on Wall Street. Gilbert was arrested in December 2009.
