LUBBOCK -- The F.B.I. has arrested a suspected terrorist, right here in West Texas.

Khaild Ali-M Aldawsari -- a citizen of Saudi Arabia -- was arrested  in Lubbock on federal charges of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction on Wednesday. Aldawsari, a business major at South Plains College, was admitted to the U.S. on a student visa and had been allegedly planning a jihad since.

Aldawsari reportedly set up numerous email accounts  where he allegedly emailed himself instructions to make multiple explosive devices. F.B.I. reports indicate he sent himself recipes for numerous bombs, one he even labels as a "military explosive." They add he even went as far as sending instructions on how to convert a cell phone into a remote detonator and preparations for booby-trapping a vehicle using common household items.

In a search of Aldawsari's apartment, agents found chemicals, beakers and flasks, wiring, a hazmat suit and clocks. They also found a private diary in which Aldawsari allegedly wrote his plans -- one entry entitled a synopsis of important steps that includes obtaining a forged us birth certificate, renting cars and using different licenses for each rental -- all the way up to driving them to city locations when rigged with explosives.

Several suspected targets are listed as well, including a possible nightclub bombing, and the Dallas home of former president George W. Bush.

Aldwasari will make his first federal court appearance on Friday morning. If convicted, he faces life in prison with a $250,000 fine.
