The blaze started at the substation -- which is operated by Sharyland Utilities -- around 3:50 PM Monday. Two wires crossed each other, sparking the blaze. Nearby oil also caught fire.
Sharyland Utilities spokesperson Jeanne Phillips says that crews were able to put the blaze out within a half hour. No one was injured in the fire, but about 3,000 customers were still without power around 8 PM.
Phillips said at that time that Sharyland Utilities is working to get the power back on across the area as fast as they could, and all power should be restored by 10 PM.
All power that was knocked out because of the fire has now been restored.
