BIG SPRING -- Howard College has set a new enrollment record this semester.

5,115 people are enrolled at the college for the Spring semester. 1,828 of those people attend the Big Spring campus.

Howard College President Dr. Cheryl Sparks says the increase can be tied to the recent rough economy. Sparks says people tend to go back to school to learn new skills after periods of job layoffs.
