ODESSA -- An Odessa man is behind bars, accused of sexual assault.

Andrew Kwaku Amoyaw, 21, was arrested for the alleged incident. Odessa Police say that incident happened over the weekend.

Police say a 29-year-old woman was leaving a business on the east side of Odessa, when she was separated from her friend. Amoyaw allegedly offered to help the woman find her friend. He then reportedly brought the woman to his vehicle and sexually assaulted her.

The victim managed to escape, and she was taken to Medical Center Hospital, where she gave a description of the vehicle and Amoyaw. Odessa Police pulled over Amoyaw's vehicle moments later, and he was arrested.

Amoyaw is charged with felony sexual assault. He's being held on $50,000 bond.
