The incident happened Thursday afternoon at a home at 725 Lodgepole, near Moss Avenue. The Ector County Sheriff's Office, F.B.I., Odessa Police Department Bomb Squad, Texas Rangers and Haz Mat entered the home and searched it for potentially explosive chemicals.
Surrounding homes were evacuated and the area was closed off during the 2 and a half hour search. A resident in the home -- a white male in his mid 40's -- was questioned by officers and mental health evaluators.
Sgt. Gary Duesler of the Ector County Sheriff's Office says that nothing of criminal intent was found, and the resident was not charged.
The search comes a week after a man was arrested in Lubbock and accused of making weapons of mass destruction.
