The Hall Pass Visitor Management System is being installed at every campus. Now, when visitors arrive on campus, they have to swipe their drivers license. Once the visitors do that, the system will compare the I.D. to sex offender registries in every state and more than 70 countries.
"If there was someone who was actually a sex offender, it automatically gives us an alert," E.C.I.S.D. Police Lieutenant Mark Rowden told Big 2.
If the system triggers an alert, that alert will go to police, the school principal, and anyone else on campus that needs it. The district says that other schools are using the hall pass system, with great success.
