MIDLAND COUNTY -- Some Midland County residents who've been coping with contaminated water are now getting federal attention.

Residents along West County Road 112 have been added to the Superfund site by the Environmental Protection Agency.

This is the area has been battling severe groundwater contamination by hexavalent chromium, and has been in the spotlight after visits from environmental activists Erin Brockovich.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has been giving out water filtration systems to area residents. Now, the EPA will oversee the clean-up and begin its investigation to find where the contamination came from.
