AUSTIN -- A new judge will officially be taking over the 244th District Court in Odessa this week.

James Rush was chosen by the Ector County G.O.P. for the position, and was later nominated by Governor Rick Perry. On Wednesday, the Texas Senate confirmed Rush for the position. Now, Rush will be sworn in on Friday.

Rush replaces Stacy Trotter, who left the position earlier this year. Rush has worked for local law firm Rush, Kelly, Morgan, Dennis, Corzine, and Hansen.
