ODESSA -- Ector County Sheriff Mark Donaldson has announced a new policy regarding media interviews with Ector County Detention Center inmates.

Sheriff Donaldson sent out a press release this week saying that no media interviews will be granted without a signed letter from the inmate's attorney. If an inmate doesn't have an attorney, there won't be any interviews.

The new policy comes after several inmates broke out of the jail in recent months. Another inmate escaped custody from a hearing at the courthouse. All of those inmates have been recaptured.
