MIDLAND -- School districts across Texas are looking at making changes.

On Thursday night, M.I.S.D. talked to parents about a plan to restructure the Gifted and Talented Program. Right now, G.T. elementary students in Midland are brought to Carver Center twice a week for G.E.M. Classes. But a new proposal would instead create a Gifted and Talented campus at Carver, meant for students district wide.

Parents would nominate their kids for the school, and then the kids would have to pass tests. Additionally, children that didn't pass their STAAR tests would be put on probation, and they could be removed from the school.

The plan is still under consideration. On Thursday night, parents got a chance to ask questions and share their concerns.
