By: Jackie Smith
Updated: March 27, 2011
Odessa--Two abandoned homes in Odessa were fully engulfed in flames Sunday afternoon. It all happened at 14th and Sam Houston in Odessa. Odessa Fire Department responded to a call at around 2:00 PM. Fire Officials say that it took them twenty minutes to put out the flames and the homes were a complete loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. But Odessa fire Department tells Big 2 that the fire is suspicious because the homes are abandoned with no electricity turned on. Fire officials say that because of onlookers it took them longer to reach the home, and want to remind the public to stay out of the way during emergencies.
