ODESSA -- Dog bites are a bigger problem then most people think. The animals can be playful one minute, then savagely attack someone. A dog bite incident recently happened in Odessa.

Karen Tucker was going on her normal evening walk in 1700 block of Crescent Drive on Thursday March 24th, when she was bitten by a dog. Two girls were walking the dog when the dog jumped at Tucker from out of nowhere and left her with injuries that sent her to the hospital.

"At the time I didn't know what had happened," said Tucker. "I was in shock and I turned and screamed at them. I didn't mean to do that -- the dog had just bit me. I continued my walk and realized there was something wrong."

Odessa Animal Control is looking to investigate the incident. The dog involved is described as a medium-sized boxer or boxer-mix. It's a light yellow color with a white stripe around it's belly and neck.

If you have any information about this dog, please call Odessa Animal Control at 432-368-3526.
